The IAEE Young Professionals group was created to fill an important niche in the exhibitions and events community. If you are 35 or under and are looking for a network with core life objectives including career advancement, becoming financially secure and being involved in a special interest group while maintaining a social life, then IAEE Young Professionals is right for you.

IAEE supports the young professional's community by offering tailored programs, education and events designed to give future leaders in the exhibitions and events industry with social and professional networking support.

 The committee is responsible for implementing all educational opportunities for the chapter (as determined by the Board of Directors,) including luncheon meetings, seminars, and workshops.  Arrangements include site selection, food and beverage arrangements, attendee evaluation forms, on-site logistics, and registration.

 The committee is responsible for selecting a charity for our Chapter to support and coordinate with the Board and other committees to plan fundraising events. This year the IAEE-CTC has selected to work with three charities: The Care Communities (assisting with Annual iCare Gala), Austin Child Guidance Center (assisting with Annual Austin Originals Benefit Concert) and Dress for Success (collecting gift cards at the IAEE-CTC Holiday Social).

 The committee creates and maintains the chapter’s social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.  The committee is responsible for posting chapter events and information on social media accounts to promote the chapter and the exhibitions and events industry.  The committee also produces a chapter Newsletter and marketing collateral to promote the chapter and its events.

The committee is responsible for developing the chapter's educational programs for the year (with board input) including speaker recommendations that meet the programming needs, then facilitating all meetings, working with the Arrangements Committee.

 The committee is responsible for helping plan our Chapter GMID event in conjunction with IAEE and other participating organizations.  This includes attending planning meetings and reporting to the board.

The committee is responsible for planning and producing the spring and summer socials, including the event budget, site selection, entertainment, food and beverage arrangements, developing promotional information, soliciting door prizes, handling on-site logistics and making certain annual sponsors are recognized appropriately.

The committee is responsible for planning and implementing membership recruitment and retention programs for the chapter, soliciting new members among the guests at chapter meetings and social events, and contacting non-renewing members.  The Board of Directors is expected to play an intricate role in membership recruitment & retention.

 The committee is appointed and chaired by the immediate past chairman and to consist of at least three committee members.  The committee is responsible for developing and presenting a slate of qualified candidates to the chapter at least two months prior to the September Chapter meeting.  No member of the nominating committee is to be nominated for office.

The committee is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining the sponsorship program. This includes applications, documentation, and making sure all sponsors receive credit for and benefits from their sponsorships.

 This committee will support interns and participating students interested in the hospitality industry, especially in tradeshows and events.  This will include coordinating activities with the Austin Community College and the University of Houston’s IAEE Student Chapter.  This committee will assist in providing speakers for their events, coordinating interns, and will participate in and help facilitate career fairs.

This committee will also plan YP Meet-Ups and help provide mentors for young professionals currently or looking to get into the industry.  This committee is designed to support our future leaders in the exhibitions and events industry with social and professional networking support.
